Arranging to have you banns read at St John’s
Firstly, congratulations on your forthcoming wedding!
If you live in Greenlands or Woodrow and are getting married at the Church of England church outside of our Parish then you will need to have you banns read here. This is a process that goes banns many years to a time when we lived in smaller, tighter communities and everyone was better known. However, the process remains.
The banns must be read on 3 Sundays within 3 months prior to your wedding.
There is a statutory fee for reading the banns and producing the certificate for the minister taking your wedding.
